About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a .NET Software Engineer to work for our client within the Banking sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior C# .NET Developer to join our client's Commodities Technology team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on C# and .NET technologies. This role involves working on innovative projects within the commodities sector, developing and maintaining high-quality software solutions that support our trading and risk management systems.

Responsibilities

Assist in the development and maintenance of applications using C# and .NET technologies tailored for commodities trading
Support the design and implementation of WCF and RESTful services to facilitate real-time data processing and integration
Utilise parallel programming techniques, including multi-threading and TPL, to enhance application performance
Write and optimize SQL queries and work with relational databases to manage large datasets
Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and .NET Core applications for automation and system management
Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated build and release management, ensuring seamless deployment of updates
Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns to create robust and scalable software solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including traders and risk managers, to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business needs

About You

Requirements

2-5 years of hands-on experience with C# and .NET
Good understanding of WCF and RESTful services
Basic knowledge of parallel programming (multi-threading/TPL)
Basic SQL and RDBMS knowledge
Experience with PowerShell scripting, .NET Core, CI/CD, XML, and Python
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Development (OOP) and Design Patterns
Good understanding of automated build and release management
Experience in the commodities trading sector
