Position Summary
Digital and social media content are indispensable and central components when authentically connecting to our fan base, both locally and nationally. We seek a Social Media Content Coordinator with a passion for crafting and publishing captivating content and experience in shooting, producing, and editing video content with social media engagement at its core. This person should possess strong copywriting ability and a deep understanding of pop culture and sports. While the primary platform for this creative output will be Falcons' social media channels, we are looking for an individual whose innovative concepts extend beyond the boundaries of our social platforms. The successful candidate will be attuned to Atlanta's cultural currents and our social audiences, committed to strengthening connections with existing fans, and adept at attracting new fans through engaging content. Above all, we seek an enthusiastic collaborator who aligns with our digital team's culture and pushes the Falcons to new levels.
This dynamic, fast-paced role necessitates versatility and the capacity to contribute to content creation through strategic planning production and real-time execution.
The Social Media Content Coordinator must have a high football acumen and seasoned experience in media. Previous sports experience, multimedia familiarity, and a positive digital footprint are essential for consideration. This position will report to the Atlanta Falcons Manager, Social Media. The Social Media Content Coordinator will also work alongside the Director of Social Media & Influencer and a fully integrated digital communications team.
This role is based at the Atlanta Falcons Facility in Flowery Branch, GA.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ideate, capture, and produce original content and social media short-form concepts that increase viewership rates and drive growth on Atlanta Falcons digital platforms
- Create short-form videos for social distribution in a timely manner from studio shows (podcasts, features, etc.), press conferences and live events
- Create, edit, and post content across social platforms, with a large focus, but not limited to vertical video (YouTube, Shorts, TikTok, Snapchat)
- Create “professional” social memes and content for real-time social content that increase fan and social media engagement
- Monitor daily social media trends, conversation and engagement focused around the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta, and the NFL and integrate into content
- Collaborate with the Falcons digital team to achieve objectives - delivering authentic, measurable content that resonates with our fan base
- Collaborate with the Creative Services department to craft successful content development and ensure social media presence is in line with our brand and voice
- Partner with other members of the integrated organization to craft inspiring and entertaining content and initiatives that delight Falcons fans, ultimately yielding tangible business outcomes
- Provide real-time platform coverage during live games, practice and team events by writing engaging social copy and creating compelling multimedia content
- Ideate and execute social media campaigns related to the brand or sponsorships at a high-performing level
- Utilize content performance analytics to gain insights into our audiences and their preferences, enabling the creation of impactful content
- Infuse the team with creative, forward-thinking ideas, and efficiently manage deliverables that push the Falcons brand forward
- Other duties as assigned by the Social Media Manager
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Four-year degree
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience in fast-paced, high-demand digital and social media environments
- Experience in professional or collegiate sports environments is highly desired
- Portfolio that demonstrates a creative and diverse approach to storytelling on social platforms
- Proven organization and project management skills; able to flawlessly juggle multiple balls at once
- Proven record of highly visible deadlines, online resume, and project deliverables
- Extensive sports and football acumen
- Passionate about telling great stories with great attention to detail and accuracy
- Availability to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
- Ability to multitask and manage various projects and the goals of multiple departments
- Must be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under public pressures
- Team player who thrives in projects that involve multiple stakeholders
- Outgoing and professional personality that connects with players, staff, and the Atlanta region
- Experience using social media platforms in a professional setting
- Though this position won’t have 100% travel, the candidate must have availability to travel when needed
Required Skills
- Proficiency in digital and social media platforms and data analysis and measurement expertise
- Versatile content creation skills, including adeptness in copywriting, videography, video production, and video editing
- High grammatical proficiency and creative writing style
- Familiarity with creating and optimizing paid social media strategies is welcomed
- Ability to collaborate across multiple functions and departments
- Track record with multi-tasking and working against tight deadlines
- Experience with software and social platforms including, but not limited to: Twitter/X, Meta, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, Slate, Twitter Media Studio, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, CapCut, Emplifi
