General Summary:
Vertex is seeking a talented individual with the desire to be part of a highly innovative company aimed at transforming the lives of people with serious diseases, their families and society.
As a member of the International Health Economics and Outcomes Research team, based in London, your primary responsibility will be to support launch execution, local real world evidence generation and training across disease areas in Europe, with a focus on BENELUX and Iberia markets.
The role will involve heavy global interaction and will be reporting into the Head of International HEOR. The right candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and vast experience working with cross-functional teams across matrix.
You will be tasked with leading the development of local HE materials to support Vertex’s assets value proposition, and will have a large focus of leading the adaptation of global economic models, HTA dossier development, RWE local study design in full alignment with global research and training local teams in HEOR topics across disease areas.
The right candidate will have extensive HEOR experience and a significant understanding of European Market Access. You will need to have an in depth understanding of international HEOR processes and HTA submissions as well as experience in RWE generation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as the HEOR point of contact and SME supporting the BENELUX and Iberian markets
- Develops and executes HEOR plans that support strategic access priorities
- May serve as HEOR lead to cross-functional and cross-regional teams to align strategic plans to stakeholder needs and represent the voice of HEOR and, at times, market access
- Executes HEOR launch deliverables to support local access plans including evidence generation plans, outcomes research studies, models (cost-effective analysis and budget impact models), etc.
- Supports the integration of HEOR evidence in health technology appraisals submissions for relevant assets
- Works closely with global HEOR, medical, and other functional teams to support and enhance access to marketed products across countries
- Leads on country-specific evidence generation efforts in collaboration with cross-functional teams e.g. medical, biostatistics.
- Collaborates with the medical communications teams on publication strategy and ensures that the dissemination of HEOR country-specific evidence is timely and has maximum impact
Knowledge and Skills:
- Technical expert in HEOR able to efficiently support HTA strategies across a number of countries
- Formulate and lead creative research projects and ensure conduct is technically and scientifically rigorous and reflects best HEOR practices
- Culturally sensitive collaborator able to effectively lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business and stakeholder needs while managing to timelines and budgets
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills to influence others internally/externally; comfortable communicating complex concepts and adapting presentation style to a variety of audiences
- Ability to apply knowledge of EU healthcare system, global health technology appraisals requirements, and clinical development, to identify evidence gaps and formulate evidence generation strategies
- Comprehensive understanding of the legal and regulatory environment of the pharmaceutical industry, with spotless history of compliance and ethical workplace conduct
Education and Experience:
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, Master's degree, MPH) in a relevant discipline.
- Extensive experience in health economics and outcomes research, and track record leading HTA engagements.

1. Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
2. On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
