Job Description
The purpose of the Regulatory & Stakeholders Engagement Manager is to lead and manage all key regulatory affairs, influence stakeholder perceptions; supporting proactive government and regulatory engagement.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Protect the overall regulatory environment
- Influence regulatory and public policy processes to the benefit of the Zone
- Track and maintain a detailed awareness of the key regulatory issues facing the Business and develop strategic responses as required.
- Industry advocacy for long-term market reforms
- Optimizing relationships and communications with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Processing plant & factory tours
- Develop initiatives/events for multi-stakeholder forums
- Supporting functional/commercial business including TDL illicit issues, breweries regional government engagement and regulatory bodies to mitigate regulatory risks
- Function supports in follow up of regional & directorial level support on commercial & operational support
- Strong focus on statistical modelling and data management
- Track and maintain a detailed awareness of the key excise issues facing the business and develop strategic responses as required
- Develop and communicate the excise positions and integrate into risk management and stakeholder engagement process
- Conduct research to support the development of submissions to relevant industry regulatory authorities
- Develop and maintain sound and mutually beneficial relationships with relevant role players at all levels of government
- Develop and maintain a robust depository and deep understanding of relevant and reliable data and communicate the value of available information to the relevant role players
- Engage stakeholders and act as the contact point for TBL Group regulatory affairs; by developing mutually beneficial relationships with the relevant key stakeholders
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in economics/political science/law/international relations and a minimum of 4 years’ experience
- Experience in a highly regulated industry, stakeholder relations and track record of establishing strong governmental relationships
- Experience working with indirect tax essential
- Strong technical skill and courage to defend positions views when challenged
- Ability to understand and navigate complex political environments
- Ability to form meaningful relationships with stakeholders as well as an ability to influence
