Job Description: As an ‘Analyst: Import/Export Licensing’ and a key member of the Global Trade Compliance Team you will play a critical role in ensuring that our company adheres to all applicable trade regulations and policies. Working alongside team members as part of our Global team you will be responsible for ensuring that all import and export transactions are completed within applicable government export rules and regulations, as well as providing guidance and support to various departments within the organisation. This position requires an understanding of international trade regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Compliance:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant trade regulations for shipping controlled dual use or military products including:
o The statutes, orders, regulations, sanctions/embargoes and directives of the United Kingdom (“UK”), European Union (“EU”), and United States (“U.S.”), including the UK Strategic Export Control List, U.S. ITAR and EAR regulations, as well as all other local country export/import requirements Key Responsibilities:
o Review and release export compliance holds for domestic and international transactions in multiple electronic systems, to include analysis relating to the applicability of license exceptions and exemptions
o Raise any export classification questions to the Microchip classification team and occasionally assist with classification requests submitted to government agencies (CCATS, CJs, etc.)
o Determine End User Certificates/End user Statements requirements, requesting documents through internal colleagues, then review to determine completeness and acceptance
o Perform restricted party screening checks
o Apply for UK/EU Export Licenses when required
o Update tracking in Excel for export licenses, shipments, and balances
o Participate in internal investigations, audits, and self-assessments and implement corrective actions based on findings
o Prepare and submit required compliance reports to regulatory authorities (UK/EU) in a timely manner
o Perform general trade compliance tasks/projects at the request of the Global Trade Compliance leadership team
Requirements/Qualifications: Essential:
o Experience in a similar high-tech role in regulatory compliance (Dual Use, Export Licensing), logistics, planning or sales administration o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams o Be proficient in Microsoft office (Word/Excel/Outlook/Teams) o Be able to communicate effectively with both internal & external clients o Have experience of BaaN or a similar ERP system Desirable:
o Have experience with any or all the following:
o UK Government online licensing application tools (SPIRE/LITE)
o EU national online licensing application tools (DETE, ELAN-K2, etc.)U.S. EAR regulations, HTS & ECCN codes. #LI-AL2
