Role Overview
GOAT Group is seeking a fashion enthusiast to blend their passion with a full-time career in a startup environment. As a Junior Authentication Specialist, you will apply your expertise in sneakers, apparel and consignment for leading brands like Nike, Jordan, Adidas and more. You will verify the authenticity of products, stay up to date on industry trends and collaborations with the world's best retailers and ensure each buyer receives a premium retail experience by identifying defects, assessing wear and verifying SKU and size details.
In this role, you will:
- Support daily fulfillment and operational processes as needed
- Receive and arrange inbound inventory according to brand, category, model, etc.
- Assist with the product verification process, including spotting manufacturer defects, assessing wear, factory product reset, inspecting product SKU and size.
- Enter all relevant data accurately into GOAT Group Admin, including SKU, size, condition, and original packaging
- Use training tools to learn to verify authenticity of product across the major brands.
- Keep detailed training notes, research trends, new products and upcoming brands
- Actively communicate in Slack and other communications channels, (e.g. raise issues like fake footwear) and acknowledge communication from others
- Work in a dynamic warehouse environment with heavy equipment
- Remain flexible to perform other duties as required and assigned
We are looking for:
- Passion for sneakers and fashion, technology and helping others succeed
- Knowledge of products (sneakers, apparel and accessories), including originals and re-releases
- Ability to recognize current trends within the sneaker and fashion industries
- Highly organized with demonstrated attention to detail
- A quick learner and self-starter, capable of working independently and handling increasing levels of responsibility
- Ability to lift and move boxes (up to 35 pounds)
- Fully proficient in reading and communicating in English
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays, during peak times to meet business needs
